The Facts About Reverse Vasectomies

The Facts About Reverse Vasectomies by David Done David Done

In recent years, reverse vasectomies have noticed an increase in success rates, making them very attractive fertility solutions to those men who may have prematurely decided to limit or prevent entirely their chances at fatherhood.

The reasons for someone wanting to reverse their vasectomy can be quite varied. It can be spurred by the unfortunate passing of a child, a divorce and re-marry situation or one of a dozen other deeply personal reasons. Modern reverse vasectomies offer an outstanding opportunity for couples to realize a life with children.

Just as with vasectomies, many people are limited in what they know about reverse vasectomies. In fact, most people aren’t even aware that this solution exists. Therefore, here are some facts about reverse vasectomies that will help educate those who may be interested in learning more.

* Approximately six to twelve percent of men who have vasectomies ultimately choose to have their vasectomies reversed.

* Reverse vasectomies have up to a 90-plus percent success rate of reconnection.

* Over half of all reverse vasectomy patients succeed in impregnating their spouses.

* While success rates have been dramatically improved, as with any medical procedure, results cannot be guaranteed.

* Reverse vasectomies can be expensive at a cost ranging between $6,000 and $15,000.

* Most health insurance policies fail to offer coverage for reverse vasectomies.

* Most physicians offer some type of financing plan to help the patient manage the cost of the procedure.

* Much of the success rate of the reverse vasectomies lies in the amount of time between surgeries. Therefore, the chances of success are best when the reversal is performed within a few years after the original vasectomy. As an example, if reverse vasectomies take place within 19 years of the original procedure, the chances of pregnancy can be greater than 50 percent. But, if one waits 20 to 25 years, the potential drops to approximately 33 percent.

* A vasectomy does not eliminate all sperm production in a man. In fact, the male body continues to produce sperm as long it’s alive. When a vasectomy is performed, it prevents the sperm from flowing into the seminal fluids. Sperm will continue to build up; however, they will eventually break down and be reabsorbed by the body.

* Reverse vasectomies are much more intensive surgeries than the original vasectomies and they can commonly last between two and six hours.

Choosing Holiday And Christmas Cards For Family And Friends

Choosing Holiday And Christmas Cards For Family And Friends by Amy Carter

‘Tis the season for Christmas cards. Well, not quite, but soon enough the time will be here to pick and send Christmas cards for your friends and family. Rather than looking on this as a chore, you should relish the opportunity to connect with far away friends and family and wish them well in the New Year. The only question now is ‘what card do I send?’ A few words of advice should have you fa-la-la-la-ing in no time.

Religious
While the holidays and Christmas are a very religious time, there can be a big question about which religion. If you’re not sure what or how your friends are celebrating, stick to a non-religious greeting. This is a safe and festive way to send your wishes. Your family, on the other hand, should be no mystery. You already know how important religion is to your family, so pick a card that is thoughtful and appropriate. There is no rule when selecting a Christmas or holiday card to your family, but you should know what is best.

Funny
A good laugh can brighten everyone’s holiday. While this may not be appropriate for everyone on your list, you can certainly select a funny holiday card for your friends who enjoy a good laugh. It is best to steer clear of any joke that is a little too racy. Luckily, they just don’t make too many offensive Christmas cards so you’re safe there. As a litmus test for your holiday or Christmas joke card, think if your boss or your mom would laugh at it or be offended. If you think they would both laugh, then you’re all set. Most of all, know your audience. It’s okay to pick different cards for different people. Better you send a nice holiday greeting than you send a distasteful card.

Picture
Many families go to great lengths to include a photograph of their children dressed up for the holiday or even the whole family – including the dog. A photo card is a great way to send your wishes. Your family will love to see your shining faces around the holidays, especially if you’re living far away from each other. A photo Christmas card might not be the best choice for your old college friend or a casual acquaintance. It certainly wouldn’t be offensive, just make sure you’re in the picture so there is someone they recognize in the picture.

Notes and newsletters
A holiday note or letter is perfect for keeping your family and friends up-to-date. End the year on a cheerful note by highlighting your family’s accomplishments and triumphs. Keep the note cheerful and newsy and you’ll be all set. You might want to leave out any depressing news - like when the turtle died – just to keep with the holiday spirit. Again, make sure you know your audience. Some more casual or business acquaintances may not be as interested in your news as your family and close friends. For those on your list, skip the long note and include your hand written wishes. In some cases, less is more.

One thing is for sure, real paper Christmas cards are the only way to go. An e-mail Christmas greeting is just not the same. Don’t get lazy and think you can send an email and be off the hook for Christmas cards. Sending a real Christmas card with your genuine holiday wishes is a long standing tradition that should be honored.

Christmas and holiday cards don’t have to be a chore. Select your cards based on your audience, take the time to write a nice greeting and you’ll be done in no time. Happy Holidays!!!

Could Music Have An Important Roll In Living Long And Healthy?

Could Music have an Important Roll in Living Long and Healthy? by FutureSounds

A healthy life choice is generally defined by how physically healthy you are, correct? For example, if you have a cold or are sick, you are unhealthy. If you are dealth a life changing disease such as aids or cancer, you are unhealthy. But does this mean that it is all physical? Absolutely not! Health is also made up by your mental state. Think about this, the kind of music you listen to generally affects your personality type. Here is a great example: I listened to Hard Rock as a teenager (most teenagers do) and was extremely crazy, mischievous, full of energy, and lots of fun! Today I am more mature, I listen to lighter music and I am more relaxed, laid back, careless, and less energetic.

Let us focus on music and setting the mood. Again, going back to the heavy rock, how does it make you feel when you listen to it? I can tell you from experience that heavy music gets my adrenaline rushing, my foot pounding, my head pulsing. In short, it sends me into overdrive! How does t make you feel when you listen to music? Let us go to the opposite side of the spectrum and use classical music as an scenario. If you are listening to a song written by Beethoven, how do you feel? I am generally feeling very classy, smart, makes me feel like learning, opening a book, become a better person. It is a totally different mood it puts me in. What does it do for you?

So how does this make you live healthier? The correct kind of music can help your mood and personality improve, creating a positive and happy outlook on life. It is a proven fact that a happier person lives longer and is in better health than someone who is always worried, miserable, and unhappy. The body was not designed to deal with stress all the time. That is where disease stems from. Think of the word, “dis” “ease”. That means there is not ease in the body, stress can be the cause. Music can be the fix.

Music can be a great enjoyment for all involved. How great do you feel when you listen to your favorite song come on the radio or iPod? How does it make you feel when you hear a song you do not like? Not that good right?

Let us talk about movies. What about horror movies, what kind of music do they play? Some play really creepy high pitched, quick paced scary music, others have gotten smart and play NOTHING musically. This is genius because mentally, without music your mind wonders and it allows them to put more suspense behind the movie. Do you recall the movie The Blair Witch Project? It was a very low budget flick, and done with little to no soundtrack. Somehow it still was one of the most watched and popular horror movies of its time.

What about your movies that make you feel good? Next time you get a chance, watch Disney’s Enchanted? It is a musical all in its own that has light, soft, dance in the street, hug your neighbor, sweet music. It makes you feel extremely loving and uncharacteristically in the mood to kiss a chipmunk. Disney knew what they were doing with this. As with most Disney movies the soundtrack is key. It puts the audience in a positive mind frame and gives them something to look forward to.

What about action movies, what type of music do they focus on? I would say techno, heavy, fast paced rock soundtrack? Think about one of the best action movies ever – The Matrix. The theme song is a fast paced bass guitar riff. It puts you in the mind frame to conquer the world! Not necessarily a positive attitude, but still, makes me happy at that time.

What does all this music stuff have to do with living longer and healthier? Find out what makes you happy and focus your attention on that sort of music. Do not attempt to trick yourself; you know what it is that makes you feel good. Enjoy this knowledge that you now have on living just a little bit healthier with music and share this with your family.

If you like this article, you should think about indulging in music a great deal more.

Anger Management Counseling: Save Your Life And Your Family-from Mchenry And Algonquin

Anger Management Counseling: Save your Life and your Family-From Mchenry and Algonquin by Mike Shery

Counseling is the key to helping you to overcome your abusive anger. Psychological clinics, courts and jails are filled with people who require treatment because anger has literally destroyed their lives, or threatens to do so.

If you are considering anger management counseling, my guess is that you are probably not the usual bully type. Instead, you probably have a respectable job and care deeply for your family and friends, even though you often hurt them deeply.

So why do you holler and rage so easily when it literally traumatizes the spouse and kids you love so much? Keep reading to get the answer to this crucial question.

More than likely, your abusive raging is due to various factors, some of which are hidden from awareness. Because your situation is so urgent and complex, the role of anger management therapy is not to delve into the past, so much, as it is to isolate the triggers that ignite your rage, NOW- in the present!

However, as you start to get a meaningful understanding of your problem, additional factors will be explored, including any toxic childhood experiences or dysfunctional parenting to which you were exposed. After all, no one would challenge the notion that experiences from your early life, whether relatively normal or painfully traumatic, can help to shape your experiences today.

You probably remember and can visualize rage and verbal abuse that took place in your family in your past. The good news is that now, as an adult, you have many more resources and a lot of expert knowledge to draw upon that was not available to you as a kid.

If anger or rage is ruining your life or that of your long-suffering family, it is absolutely imperative that
you get anger management treatment to make changes in the psychological factors that cause and worsen your rage-before it is too late!

Psychotherapy and anger management counseling teach you how to think in new ways that reduce your angry impulses and eliminate your destructive behavior. Counseling is a powerful technique that will show you how events in your life and your thoughts, moods and emotions are all linked in little-known ways to cause your angry behavior.

You will learn to dramatically change your distorted thinking and see things in a delightfully more normal perspective; your problem with rage will be totally eliminated-once and for all!

I bet you have an automatic inner critic which immediately and unconsciously dumps exaggerated and angry thoughts into your mind when you are in situations that trigger your rage. These dangerous thoughts are often hidden and just outside of your awareness.

That is why you fail to notice them. Or, these subtle, hidden and destructive thoughts and feelings may be so common that they are assumed by your subconscious mind to be authoritative and the absolute truth. So, you get angry!

An expert anger management counselor or therapist will teach you how to instantaneously change your anger-triggering thoughts. You will be amazed to isolate the hidden angry beliefs and assumptions that brim over in your subconscious, causing you to destroy your relationships.

You will finally discover how to eliminate them forever. You will be able to discard those that are destroying your life and replace them with healthy, adaptive and empowering beliefs.

Your expert counselor will also help you to accept yourself as you are and to care less about dysfunctional opinions of others. You will uncover the pathological and hidden ways in which you measure your self-worth and attempt to deal with the ever-present frustration you experience.

It is not an exaggeration to say that anger management therapy is a miracle that can literally change your life and save your marriage!
