Building A Good Relationship With Your Child Using The Right Kind Of Discipline by Aydan Corkern

What is your relationship with your kids? Are you good with them? Some people just have that sense that enables them to get along with children. All children can and will be a handful with some being worse than others. Some parents can have them doing something just by asking them once. It does not work like this with every child to be sure. Different children can require different methods in order to get them to behave well and mind what you ask them to do. It is important that your children respond well to you because they could be endangered running into the street or playing with something that could hurt them.

Some children will make you feel the need to pull your hair out. This happens to a lot of parents everyday. Some parents still believe that spanking a child is the key to good behavior, but there are many that strongly disagree with this particular method of discipline. They think that spanking is no less than child abuse and should be outlawed altogether. Many parents were spanked as a child themselves and see absolutely nothing wrong with it.

Most parents will try to find other ways to deal with the behavior issues a child might have besides spanking. Some parents think a spanking is perfectly fine if it is administered the correct way. Some parents think that there is no correct way to spank a child, they believe it is just wrong. They believe that you can not teach children to be good when you use violence of any kind as the tool. In a lot of instances these days the choice to spank or not to spank is being removed from parents anyway.

Whatever your view might be about spanking a child or not, as a parent you should try all other methods of behavior correction before you resort to spanking regardless of the situation. It is always better when a child follows your instructions because they love and respect your authority, not because they are afraid of you. Although, some children do require stronger disciplinary tactics than others, often the key to their better behavior will have more to do with your patience. You have to be consistent with children in the first place. Being inconsistent about what the ground rules are only confuses them. Most children respond, at least most of the time, to routine when they know what is to be expected.

If you have a child that is especially unruly and you are at your wits end as to what to do, do not be afraid to get help. Some parents are ashamed that their child behaves so badly. It might be you that is partly to blame if you are doing something that is very wrong, but much of the time it can be a problem with the child themselves. It could be a medical condition such as an an attention disorder or something worse. Getting help with an unruly child sooner is always better than waiting until later in their life.
